Colorado Homeowners Want to Know: Should I Refinance My Mortgage?

Because of strife in Greece, Spain and North Korea, conforming mortgage rates are back to all-time lows. They’re at levels not seen in 50 years.  If you own a home in Colorado and missed the Refi Boom of November 2009, it’s your second chance.

In this well-presented, 3-minute video from NBC’s The Today Show, you’ll get tips on how to take advantage of todays low rates and choosing the best time to lock in.  There’s definitely a strategy involved when locking and often times, waiting for the illusive “bottom” of the market isn’t the right choice.  You must consider many factors: How much is your potential savings or will you be reducing your term in an effort to pay your loan off in a shorter amount of time?

Some of the topics covered in this video include:

  • Why were the experts wrong about rates moving higher this summer?
  • How much money can you save with a 1 point drop in your interest rate?
  • Should you buy a bigger home now that rates have fallen?

The advice in the piece is matter-of-fact and centered.  There is no cheerleading and the message is honest. Mortgage rates are low and they likely won’t stay that way and that’s not sales hype or a pitch to request that you pick up the phone.

Plain and simple…If you’ve been thinking about a refinance, talk to your loan officer as soon as possible.  If you don’t have a relationship with a loan officer, call me.
