Boost Your Blog Post
Q: Before you hit publish, what elements can you tweak in your article?
- Start with your headline. Your blog title is the tantalizing treat that draws readers to your content.
- Don’t settle on the first iteration of your blog title. Work with it play with it, and test it out.
- A tool I love to use is the Advanced Marketing Institute’s ‘Emotional Marketing Value Headline Analyzer.’ It rocks!
- The biggest key of all is to understand your target market and know who you’re talking to and what will drive them to click-through to your article.

Q: SEO has taken a backseat, but we shouldn’t ignore it. What should we consider?
- While SEO certainly isn’t dead, SMO (social media optimization) is a vital tool in any bloggers tool belt.
- SMO is the ability to use social media to leverage an expanded conversation.
- With SMO, you leverage an expanded conversation and open up your blog to a whole new audience. It’s a win/win!
- Here’s a great explanation from Peg Fitzpatrick on SMO vs. SEO and why both offer unique value.

Q: Are bookmarking sites still relevant?
- Absolutely! Bookmarking is a great way to balance how and where you’re sharing your content.
- It helps index your content for search and creates a catalog, making it easy for anyone to find.
- Remember, they’re also a social sharing site. Some people still prefer to get their daily news there.
Q: How many times should one blog post be shared?
- Over and over and over again. Just give it a fresh face. Rework you’re your title and call to action.
- A common misconception is to tweet or post once. Never assume everyone in your audience saw it. Share, share, share!
- And share in new and unique ways. Use quotes, tips and how-to’s from your post to keep interesting.
So many elements, so little time … ! Content optimizing, audience engaging plugin to the rescue? 😉 http://t.co/yKgUA6OsUS #AtomicChat

Q: What are some good blogger communities/networks we should share in?
- My top resource is Triberr – an amazing community designed to amplify your message and expand your reach.
- I’m also a big fan of Social Buzz Club. You find/connect with your fav bloggers, add your blog and start sharing others content!
Q: What are some other great ways to drive traffic to your blog posts?
- A strategy often overlooked is commenting on other blogs within your niche. It builds relationships and reciprocity.
- Did you offer a tip in your latest blog post that is worth sharing again? Refresh, renew and repurpose it!
- Create a unique graphic and share it on Pinterest. Make sure it’s branded and positions you as the go-to expert.
Q: Promoting takes as much time as writing the post. How can we automate some of this?
My go-to tool is Sprout Social. I love how easy it is to manage multiple accounts and a team. (and look – they’re even active listeners)
@RebekahRadice Thanks Rebekah! #AtomicChat — Sprout Social (@SproutSocial) June 24, 2014
- I also use Buffer daily. It’s simple to auto schedule your fav content and then drip it out across multiple networks.
- Use a tool like Save Publishing to find tweetables in any online article It’s an amazing time-saver!
- Always use automation in moderation. It should never replace you or your ability to get “social.
THIS! >> @di_wo @joshmccormack: Automation should help you – not replace you. People see right though it! #atomicchat — Rebekah Radice (@RebekahRadice) June 24, 2014
Quick Tips to Boost Your Blog Post [Infographic]
Interesting article , Coincidentally , if others wants to merge are interested in merging of , I discovered a tool here http://goo.gl/XW4rsG
Rebekah let me share some roadblocks first before commenting about your this post.
I have been reading and sharing your stuff regularly but you have never like my any posting on any social media platform. Reasons may be following.
1. You don’t have time to read blogs of others.
2. You deliberately ignore because being indifferent
3 You don’t find them relevant.
If reason is other than above 3, do share.
I agree that resharing with little modification definitely attract more attention.
Advertising means only to be consistent in showing your views regularly because if buyer is not in mood to buy now. He/She may change his/her mind some time.
Hi Dharam! First and foremost, thank you for all of your support. I truly appreciate it. Do you have a blog? I’d love to check it out. Leave me a link and I’ll pop over!
Some really great tips here Rebekah. I like the idea of creating an image from your post to share on Pinterest. I have recently been experimenting with turning my posts into Infographics and I think these two ideas can be combined.
I find some good blogger communities like triberr and social media club in this article. For SEO, while writing article on- page optimization is worth more important than off-page. One can easily get traffic, if he/she does proper on-page optimization with great content. Anyway thanks for the informative post.
I wouldn’t say it’s easy to get traffic Rahul, but it’s definitely doable. It’s committing to certain tasks on a daily basis without fail. It all takes time and a desire to succeed!
I had always gone for multiple sharing of a new post – 3 or 4 times each on the 3 sites that I visit regularly (IBO, ApSense & LinkedIn). What this article has shown me is that there is so much more that I’ve been missing, mostly because I didn’t know it was even there to look for.
Thanks to you I’m going to do some more hunting to let people know that I exist and have a useful opinion and some ideas to share. This has been brilliant and I’ll be back for more.
Regards,
Steven Lucas
That’s great to hear Steven! I’m glad you’re going to start sharing more of your posts. You have a lot to say and people need to hear it! 🙂
Awesome tips Rebekah (and a great example of repurposing a Twitter chat!) I use Buffer myself for both work and personal stuff and it’s a time-saver indeed. I’ve just tried the recommended Save Publishing tool and it didn’t do anything for me, at least in its current version. The tweet suggestions it pulls are not even in the 140-character limit. I like the idea of sharing content excerpts rather than titles to keep things fresh, but I think this should be left to human decision making. Now, creating pre-fabricated one-click tweetables for your article is something that can help readers take the guesswork out of which lines to share.
Hi Elena! I do agree that your tweets need to be in your own words and something valuable to your followers. Mixing it up is the key!
Hi Rebekah,
There are some excellent tips in this post. I, too, was a person who used to just put my post up, share it once and then leave it. But since implementing a strategy whereby my posts get consistently reshared I’ve noticed that it definitely works, with them getting attention and, in turn, with my getting shares, likes and subscribers whom I probably wouldn’t have otherwise.
As Ryan Buddulph mentioned, the commenting strategy is a very important one. This is something that I also do a lot of and I enjoy it also. Although it’s often touted (rightfully so) as a good method fro driving traffic, I never approach it with this as my purpose. Of course I’m mindful of it, but I always try to connect with the blogger and their readers with my comments. I believe that if I concentrate first and foremost in giving good, valuable comments then the ‘traffic’ side of things will look after itself and I’m happy to let it!
Thanks for letting us know about the Emotional Marketing Value Headline Analyzer. That sure is an interesting little tool and I’ve already bookmarked the page for future use. I think tools like that are extremely useful in helping us to train our minds into thinking a bit more automatically about what it is we’re trying to achieve. Even if the tool turned out to not be so accurate it wouldn’t matter. The more we think about our subject headers and use the tool, the more and more naturally the process will become and, in turn, the more and more tuned-in we’ll find that we are.
Thanks for the awesome post, Rebekah. You have yourself a great rest of the week! 🙂
»Glenn«
Commenting on other blogs is probably one of the most overlooked ways to create relationships and boost awareness.
It is time consuming, but it’s well worth it. Especially when you take the time (like you did) to make meaningful comments and ofter valuable feedback.
Thanks for stopping by Glenn! Have a great week!
We are just starting to integrate infographics into our marketing strategy. Thanks for all the great tips!
That’s awesome Tatiana! Glad to hear they’re helpful and came at a perfect moment!
Hey Rebekah,
Great share here and I’m doing my happy dance over here because I am doing quite a bit of what you were talking about.
I finally got wise and started sharing my post more. I use to just share it on all the social sites once because I never wanted to be that person that others thought was all about me. But I was soon convinced that I needed to share it more so I change the headline and the image and share it two more times. I guess I don’t really worry too much about me sharing it since as you know we do have plenty of others sharing our content as well.
I think the only thing I’m not doing on this list is the bookmarking sites. I didn’t have my luck with traffic from those sites so I just stopped wasting my time. I keep telling myself I’m going to check out Social Buzz Club but I’ve yet to find the time to do that. You already know I’m a huge fan of Triberr and I LOVE blog commenting. I can’t help myself, I just love to read what others share and I like promoting them as well.
Thanks as always for your awesome content and love the infographic. Great job.
~Adrienne
Hi Adrienne! It’s always so wonderful to see your smiling face!
I think we all make that mistake initially. We’re so worried that we’ll be viewed as too promotional or spammy, we totally miss the opportunity to share our own work. The work we put hours into creating.
You would love Social Buzz Club and fit right in. It’s a great community, but I understand that there are only so many hours in a day. Stick what’s obviously working for you! 🙂
Even if SMO is a great way to make your message get across the platforms there are a few SEO tricks that shouldn’t forget. The basic on page tactics still work and are the basis of all of the promotion you make. Having clear keywords and using them properly is still important.
Absolutely Alexandra. SEO still plays a huge role and keywords are a main ingredient!
Great advice for blog marketing! Thank you!
Thanks Alvin and thanks for stopping by!
Hey Rebekah,
These are some great gold nuggets you shared here. I’m doing most of the work you mentioned here. I definitely have to check out sprout social to widen the scope a bit. I’m using Buffer which is helping tremendously but I’m always open to look into other tools as well. Thanks for sharing and I hope you had a great 4th!
I use buffer and Sprout Social daily Sherman. They work perfectly together! I think you’ll really appreciate the added features of SS and how much easier it makes managing, listening and responding on social media.
Hope you had a great 4th as well!
Love the use of the headline analyzer, and the need to use other blogs and social forums to boost your audience. SMO and SEO go hand in hand, and repurpose and re-share old posts is something we often forget to do.
Thanks for the tips 🙂
Yes they do Simon and it’s so much easier to repurpose a great post than to start all over!
There is always so many things to remember, and sharing is the key. I often fall into the mistake of forgetting to share the post after the ‘initial share’. Something to definitely work on!
Hi Rebekah,
Really great work, I too used to shared any content only 1 time. But now I know that I should share it number of times with tweaked titles and at different time period to get more exposure.
Hi Rebekah,
Dead on tips.
Commenting is one of my fave methods. I’ve pulled back on volume to create more insightful, thoughtful mini guest post-style comments to make an impact and add value to each post. People are listening, whether you’re commentator #1, or #100.
I’d add that retweeting or resharing posts multiple times is a smart way to boost traffic. Our audience spans across every time zone in most cases. Be in front of your reader’s eyes. Share posts 2 or 3 times daily and don’t hesitate to do so for a number of days. Need to shore up this area on my blog.
Keep up the great work Rebekah.
Super smart post.
Sharing through Triberr. Thanks 😉
Ryan
Working with such a pro is obviously our total pleasure. Thanks for much for joining us, and if anyone wants more information on Atomic Reach, I’d be happy to provide it.
Thank you Ira for being such an amazing group to work with! You and Summer make every chat so much fun!
Thank you for sharing these tips and the resources you find most helpful. Cheers!
Thanks for stopping by Julie! Glad you found them helpful!
Love how you used several different types of media in this post. Not only are your tips top notch, the post is a great model for bloggers to study as one that is visually interesting and interactive. You always impress me, Rebekah!
Aww, thank you Denise…that goes double for you!
I do love to use multiple visuals and as much media as possible. It’s fun and makes the post that much more entertaining.
I picked up 2 more (new) great tips reading your awesome article Rebekah. The AMI headline analyzer and the Social Buzz Club. It was cool how my EMV score increased from 28 to 45 by simply adding 2 intellectual words!
The Social Buzz Club sounds like an ideal Community to connect with. About the only thing you left out was to alert your subscriber list to your new article, especially since that’s exactly how I landed here so soon after you hit the publish button. I like it when you send me these alerts Rebekah and I REALLY like that we both use CommentLuv.
Isn’t the headline analyzer addictive Neil? I’m always trying to best myself.
You’ll love the Social Buzz Club. It’s a vey close-knit group and a terrific community. And of course CommentLuv is one of my favorites too!
Hi Rebekah,
I have come here after some time. But it is so good to be here. I was in between many personal and professional commitments and that kept me away from visiting my regular favorite blogs. I was hardly able to keep up with my own blog.
But things are getting better and I am glad I was able to visit you today and found this awesome post.
Promotion is always harder than content creation (at least for) and your tips are really very useful-quick, easy to implement and practical. Thank you for sharing this as I found a couple of awesome resources through your post today.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Regards,
Kumar
It’s so great to see you Kumar! I always enjoy reading your blog. I know I will find at least a nugget or two of incredibly valuable information each time I visit.
Glad to see you back and thanks for stopping by!
Ah Rebekah,
an action-packed post as always. Sometimes I think I know it all (haha) then I read your posts and learn a tip or two I should have been thinking about already!
And as always a very nicely presented post!
keep up the good work
