The unveiling of Google’s social networking platform Google+ has left us with yet another “social” challenge. How can we easily begin using Google+ without the frustration of recreating all of our contacts?
The pro’s and con’s of social media is its constant state of change. Every time we turn around, we’re challenged to learn something new. Don’t let the learning curve deter you from getting started. It’s a simple process to move your contacts from Facebook to Google+ and should only take 10 minutes max.
In order to accomplish this, you will need a Yahoo email account. If you have already signed up for Yahoo then jump to the first step below.
Steps to Transfer Facebook Contacts to Google+
- Once you’ve logged into your Yahoo account, click on the Contacts tab. To the right you will see the “Actions” button. Directly below that is your option to import from Facebook. Click that button and follow the instructions.
- Facebook will now ask you to allow your Yahoo contacts to be shared. Choose “okay.”
- You will be shown a “congratulations” screen along with the number of contacts that have been imported.
- You now need to login to your Google+ Account. Once you are logged in, select your “circles” and then the “find people” button. From there you are able to connect directly to Yahoo and allowing all contacts to be pulled into your Google+ account.
And voila…your contacts have been imported!
You are now able to see all of your imported contacts and simply drag and drop those contacts into your circles.
So how is your experience so far with Google+ and do you see it overtaking Facebook as the top social networking site?
